Quinn Brenfleck, MA, LMFTA
(Pronouns: they/them)
Associate Individual & Relationship Therapist
Sex therapist
Drama Therapist
My name is Quinn (they/them), and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) with Modern Therapy Seattle. I earned my Master’s in Couples & Family Therapy, with Drama Therapy and certificates in both Sex Therapy and Sexuality Education from Antioch University Seattle (AUS). I am currently open to seeing individuals, relationships, and families for therapeutic work via telehealth appointments and in-person at our office in Eastlake. I am currently wearing an N95 mask during all in-person sessions, and ask that all my clients do what they can to practice COVID safety precautions for the health and accessibility of our team and other MTS clients.
I approach therapy from a somatic, equity-based lens and incorporate the creative arts where appropriate to explore the intersections between our sense of self and the broader systems and cultures we live in. For me, your unique perspectives and insights are central to structuring effective, supportive therapy – so I am interested in your stories, your unique ways of exploring the world, and the richness and diversity in the relationships you may hold. I am passionate about trauma-informed ways to incorporate these perspectives into the therapy I provide, and I invite my clients to explore the roles that our identities and social locations play in our therapeutic work together. I celebrate the perspectives our social locations afford us in therapeutic work, and believe transparency helps foster equitable therapeutic relationships.
I find value in theoretical frameworks and modalities like Drama Therapy, Sex Therapy, Psychodrama, Narrative Therapy, Ecopsychology, and Internal Family Systems. As a white, queer, and trans person, I take special interest in applying principles of liberation psychology in therapy, and center bodily autonomy, gender and racial equity, and collective liberation in my work. I am currently seeking additional training in EMDR, decolonizing therapy, grief and death support, and expressive arts therapies. Lastly, I specialize in developmentally appropriate queer- and gender-affirming mental health care and sex education for queer and LGBTQIA2S+ people of all ages While I am most comfortable within these frameworks, my priority is to work with you to collaboratively build a style of therapy that fits your unique needs and situation.
Therapy can be a daunting process to embark upon, so I hope to bring playfulness, creativity, sex positivity, and reverence to session to explore your goals for therapy in sustainable ways that work for you and your lifestyle. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about what working with me might look like.
