(SHE/HER)
LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY ASSOCIATE
SEX & PERINATAL THERAPIST
I believe in the body as a site of knowledge that houses the intuitive and seeks peace, pleasure, and belonging in its most authentic form. As a sex and perinatal therapist, my work is dedicated to helping you get there.
Each session is a generous balance of honesty, humility, challenge, and compassion. Our work is grounded in a therapeutic experience that honors your values, features your strengths, your learning style, and your innate wisdom. I’ll arrive with authenticity, curiosity, and specialized care, supporting you as we navigate each ebb and flow in the wake of pursuing your goals and aspirations.
My work with you is consent-focused and trauma-informed, supporting you through struggles and stressors related to sex, intimacy, identity, life transitions, and stepping into our most empowered selves. Common clinical concerns in my practice include sexual shame, purity culture or religious traumas, pleasure and sexual dissatisfaction, out-of-control sexual behavior (i.e. “porn addiction or “sex addiction”), postpartum depression and connection, LGBTQA+ relationships, and more.
I am a queer femme from the Pacific Northwest and have been a part of the Seattle sexual health and LGBTQ scene for decades originally advocating equitable practices for trans youth in family medicine and veterans in public health research. I have spent recent years as a sex educator, sex therapist, and perinatal mental health advocate.
I enjoy working with teens (15+), individuals, couples, and relationships of all forms via telehealth or in-person at the MTS office in Eastlake.
Melia’s work at Modern Therapy Seattle is currently being supervised by Haley Krenzke, MS, LMFT, CST LF66180424.
